Bombard Copse

Bombard Copse is the newest addition to Diss Community Woodland Project, acquired in 2026. It is a promising community nature area with mature oaks and an important role to play in linking habitats and supporting biodiversity on the edge of town.

As a woodland copse, the site offers a valuable opportunity to protect existing trees while gently developing the area for wildlife and future community use. Its character and setting make it a significant green asset, helping strengthen the network of natural spaces around Diss.

Bombard Copse is still at an early stage in its journey, but it already represents an exciting part of the project’s future. Careful stewardship will help it become a place where nature can flourish and where the local community can feel a sense of ownership and pride.

Bombard Copse Appeal

We’re inviting 50 supporters to contribute £100 each to help bring these woodland improvements to life. You can take part through our donations link.

As a thank you, each donor will be recognised on our on-site information board, receive regular updates as the project grows, and be entered into a special draw later in the year for the chance to plant a tree with us this December 2026.

Work parties and site activities are expected to begin in autumn 2026, giving local people the chance to help shape the next chapter of the copse and support its long-term care.

“In the end, our society will be defined not only by what we create, but what we refuse to destroy.”
